Q. How do you do research for your books?
A: Most of my research is done on the web, books, published materials, newspapers, and from people who I think know the subject I am writing about. Of course, family and friends are invaluable sources of information too.
Q. What advice would you give a new writer, someone just starting out?
A: The most difficult is not to hide behind alibis when you want to write your story and the need to allot specific time slots in your routine and write if possible daily. One must evaluate one’s writing honestly and know if satisfied. A need to read consistently helps writing.
Q. As you are an experienced writer with three successful books are there any books that you had read recently that are really popular but you dislike?
A: ‘New Moon’ by Stephanie Meyer, a 2006 New York bestseller, was lying on my bookshelf for a long time. It is well written but I did not like it.
Q. You have written three books so generally how long does it take you to write a book?
A: 24 to 36 months is generally the time I take to write my book but there is no hard and fast rule.
Q. What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?
A: Characters and events that come out with unanticipated outcomes but are relevant to the story.
